New Deck

Every year my parents come to visit, and every year we have a project for my dad.  This year's project was a deck on the back of our house.  I have been dreaming about having a deck for several years.  With everyone helping we got it done in record time.
The boys enjoyed helping to remove the old porch.

Foundation being laid.  The kids had a grand time going in and out of the door without a porch.

Everyone helped attach the deck boards!

 Cute little guy!!!
almost done with deck boards
makes a great place to pretend you're in a cage

Steps and gate done.
 All done!
Fun walking on outside of deck
First snow from deck
This  little guy is just too cute!!!!

Jr. Camp

Our kids, especially Abby has been asking to go to Jr. Camp for years with the church.  We don't let our kids go anywhere without us.  We almost went two years ago, but something came up at the last minute so we didn't go.  Last year Nathan was young, and we had taken a couple of other camping trips so we told the kids no.  Well, this year Abby was begging again to go, so Gabe took his last vacation days for the year and we went.  The kids helped raise the money to go by selling candy, mainly at laundry mats and businesses that we knew.

Enjoying the shade at the dining hall porch

Nathan loved climbing up and down the hills.  The harness really helped save him from going down too fast.
The girls were usually at the playground whenever they had free time.

We had a great family photo taken.

Last day they did a four-way tug of war.  Can you find Josiah?

Robert played one of the evening games.

Nathan enjoying daddy's ice cream.

I was happy to be home and sleep on my own bed after a week of camp.  Abby wants to go every year, but not me.  I'm a home body.  I love my home!

Bethy

Today my smiling girl turns six.
She likes to pretend that Josiah is her twin.
She made a new friend this year.
And spent time with some other friends.  The girl to the left of Beth was born the day before Beth and with the same midwife.
She loved the snow we had this year.
